World Cup Lanzarote 2026

First race of the 2026 season.

The first race of the year is always a good opportunity to get rid of some winter rust and see where I stand after the off-season. With its tough course, World Cup Lanzarote was the perfect test to see how I had come through the winter months.

I really enjoy demanding bike courses, so I decided to take advantage of it and go for a breakaway. I managed to give some real colour to the race, although in the end I could not stay away until the finish.

The effort definitely took a toll on my running legs, but overall the race gave me a lot of confidence and showed me that I’m on the right track for a strong season.
